With over 1,000,000 abortions each year in the United States and only about 18,000 infant adoptions being finalized, it’s high time that the media draw attention to the loving option of adoption. One example is Heroic Media, a pro-life organization using multimedia to present life-affirming options to pregnant women, has launched a second commercial campaign featuring adoption. In 2012, the Oxygen Network featured Heroic Media’s first commercial called “The Adoption Option,” and their newest ad features a young woman sharing her positive experience placing her child for adoption. Placing commercials on YouTube with direct links to adoption counselors could be a key to educating the public about adoption and the plentiful resources available to pregnant women.
